The people of Ivanhoé Cambridge form the very heart of our organization. We don’t want just to meet our employees’ needs—we want to exceed them. Whether we do so by providing tools for career advancement, by creating a stimulating working and collaborative environment geared to performance, health and well-being or by playing an important role in our communities, we are committed to supporting and sustaining our teams so that they can develop to their full potential.

Mentoring for the Future

The Talent Incubator Project

In January, four new investment analysts joined Ivanhoé Cambridge as the first cohort in our rotation program, otherwise known as the Talent Incubator Project. When the project ends in 2021, the analysts will have gained a comprehensive view of real estate investment by working with different teams throughout the Company, including Portfolio Construction, Data Governance, and Optimization and Business Intelligence, as well as other business units.

The rotation program has many benefits. In addition to encouraging and developing young talent, it allows our various teams to come together to build expertise that will have an impact on the future of our business and our industry.

The Talent Incubator Project has given me the opportunity to work in an environment that is collaborative, human-sized and very open to change and innovation. As a young analyst, I feel that any solid proposal or initiative is given due consideration.

Women at the forefront

The “A Effect” 100-day challenge

We champion women in the workplace by developing their talent, tracking their achievements and supporting their career ambitions. It’s one of our prime objectives—and it benefits us all. Each year, to give new impetus to the ambitions of women in business, we invite six female employees to take part in a professional-development program called the “A Effect” 100-day challenge. Through in-person workshops and presentations as well as a series of online initiatives, the participants are given tools to learn strategic risk management skills, to build their confidence and to develop a solid business network.

Our Exceptional Workplace

A Top 100 Employer

For the 10th year in a row, we have been named one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers by Mediacorp Canada Inc. The rankings are based on eight criteria: physical workplace; social atmosphere; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement. We are proud to say that Ivanhoé Cambridge was selected for a number of reasons, including our focus on health (our formal wellness program Equilibrio), our bike-friendly culture (indoor parking racks, annual tune-up clinic, proximity to bike-share stations) and our community engagement programs.

Developing our leadership

In May 2019, we launched the Leadership Journey for 55 senior leaders and our HR business partners with the assistance of an external firm. The Leadership Journey brings together our senior leaders from around the world to take part in workshops to develop and hone leadership skills for the betterment of their teams and employees.
